One of the judges, Paul, in the debating competition organized by the American Embassy in December 2012 was an official of The Toastmasters Club on a visit from the USA to stir up interest in creating Toastmaster Clubs in Laos, Cambodia and other Asian countries.
I had started the Toastmasters Club at the University of Pennsylvania when I was doing my MBA at Wharton in 1964 to help me learn how to speak before an audience, and it’s still operating.
Galina who is head of LAC Business studies was using some Toastmaster materials in her Business curriculum.
These were coincidences too good to be missed, so before Paul left for the USA, as LAC never has any money, I and AEDECOL paid the $125 registration fee to get the LAC Toastmasters Club started.
